Spring is near, won't be needing this - UP Jet Snow Bl
Author: Mgoldman

Spotted this guy at the UP Depot in Rochelle, IL on Saturday the 26th.
I assume it is in fact a Jet Powered Snow Blower, right?

If so, is this a local unit based here or visiting?

You don't want to get near one of those things when they're operating!! Noisy and HOT HOT HOT!! Does more melting of the snow than blowing, but interesting to watch...

I'm sure there is a dedicated front end, but, like a (modern) locomotive it could operate either way judging by these videos.......

Looks to be a good way to clear switches, or one of the fastest ways to burn a bunch of JP (jet fuel is nothing more than glorified diesel) short of just igniting the tank.
