Model Railroading > EMD GP60 Demonstrators 5 and 7Date: 02/15/01 11:56 EMD GP60 Demonstrators 5 and 7 Author: dozerman Just purchased 2 Athearn GP60 demonstrators. I'm not going to go "nuts" with detailing but I am looking for some info on what type of horns, beacon light, mars/gyro lights, air condition box on roof and type of snow plow that these units wore. I am sloooowly getting into modeling and I'm just looking for some help. Also, any web sites you can send me to that would have some pictures to help out with. Any information on units 5 and 7 will be greatly appreciated
Thanks guys Tim Date: 02/15/01 12:32 RE: EMD GP60 Demonstrators 5 and 7 Author: bnsfcajon The types of details you're asking about depends on which protype RR you're modeling. If you don't care just do a search thru your browser on "GP60" & you'll come up w/pix & info. If it will be for a specific RR then put ATSF, BNSF, SP, UP or what ever in front of it.

The cab and nose are quite rounded and I think the number board above the cab is flatter that the production models. I guess a lot of compromise is due here. They were on SP when delivered I think so early shots will be in SP Albums, for example. I have some at home but they are quite obscure from memory with little good angles on the roof detail but I will revert if there is anything worthwhile.
