The doors were modified about a 2 years ago to fill the backs in solid to make them easier to use, and the part numbers changed (by adding 10 to the number). So 1001 became 1011 etc. The earlier series has been discontinued, but I'm sure some shops still have them. New Numbers HD 1011 are 18" X 78" with 3 hinges,,no latches HD-1012 are 18" X 78" with 3 Hinges and 2 Latches HD-1013 are 22" X 65" with 3 hinges,no latches, and 1 door with sight glass HD 1014 are 22" X 65" with 3 hinges and 2 latches HD 1015 are 22" X 78" with 3 hinges,,no latches HD 1016 are 22" X 78" with 3 hinges and 2 latches HD 1017 are 16 & 17" X 65" 3 hinges, one side of tree has latches, the other no latches HD 1018 and HD 1019 are the Electrical Compartment doors and Access Pannel, 1018 is for 35/40 series and 1019 is for Dash 2 One more was added HD 1020 are 18" x 65" three hinges, one side of tree has latches, the other no latches Dave Hussey Cannon & Company Date: 05/28/07 15:22 Re: Needed: Cannon & Co.Door Info / Pics Author: PROPULDUDE Thank you Dave!

Mr. Chatfield and I are looking for sub-radiator doors to do, oh, say GP59's and the like. Any chance on getting the shorter doors without have to chop, file, glue and sand??? Regards, NSTopHat Date: 05/29/07 09:10 Re: Needed: Cannon & Co.Door Info / Pics Author: dh30973 NSTopHat Wrote:

However, the shorter 57 inch doors for the radiator section and the 18x78 with centered latches and 20x78 are usable on the 50/60 series only and have a somewhat limited sales potential, as decent SD50/60 and GP60 shells exist. I know I bugged Gordon for years myself to make them. Now the shoe is on the other foot<g>. I hope I don't have to rely on the Blind Dog's usage to make them viable. Make them Dave, and I'll be convinced to build another SD45X, this one in EMD blue and white (with SP numbers, of course). If for no other reason than to just make Harry salivate <g>. Might be able to use them on the GP40Xs as well, I'll have to double check the dimensions. Seems like the sales potential is getting to the point where you can quit your day job now <vbg> I'm surprised Gordon's phone still worked after I suggested these doors. That poor thing sure took a beating... Date: 05/29/07 11:07 Re: Needed: Cannon & Co.Door Info / Pics Author: tracktime Betsy Wrote:

Hi Liz, Ack.. you may just make me break out the Evergreen for this, and my stash of Cannon Doors too, just to spite ya! Not looking forward to doing the dynamics though. The rest of it looks fun. Cheers, Harry Date: 05/29/07 15:25 Re: Needed: Cannon & Co.Door Info / Pics Author: UPED I really want to see more begg'n, what you don't make a 57" door?? OH! MY!!
Dave why don't you make a door kit? Yes, a pack of hinges, pins, bolts, latches, etc. That way we could make up any size needed. Or you could do what I did years ago and shave the hinges and latches off old Athearn bodies to make the proper doors. How about operating doors! We need those center-latch 18 X 78 doors for speed-lettered GP60s and the third order of SSW GP60s, 9665-9714, too.
Date: 05/29/07 18:16 Re: Needed: Cannon & Co.Door Info / Pics Author: NSTopHat Myself, the ol' Blind Dog and others on the East Coast are itchin' to do more late model GP's, above and beyond the GP59. As EA mentioned, GP40X's, how about GP39x/GP49's, GP39-2's and GP50's. Not sure if they all match on those carbodies, that's why I haven't shot the ol' Blind Dog YET! Phenominal source of info. despite the fleas! Probably ought to have him wormed soon too! <G>
Coupled with the new walkway assemblies from RailFlier, my small fleet of NS GP50's and GP38-3's are starting to become more like a reality. NSTopHat Date: 05/29/07 20:29 Re: Needed: Cannon & Co.Door Info / Pics Author: CT97 markgillings Wrote:

GP60 Demo modelers unite,,We need the correct Aerodynamic Cab and Nose for EMD5-EMD7,,:.)) Ct97 Date: 05/30/07 05:47 Re: Needed: Cannon & Co.Door Info / Pics Author: csxt4617 CT97 Wrote:

And of course, current CSX modelers would be happy with that too, since those 3 demos ended up on CSX (as CSXT 6997-6999) :) Date: 05/30/07 08:25 Re: Needed: Cannon & Co.Door Info / Pics Author: Betsy CT97 Wrote:
> > GP60 Demo modelers unite,,We need the correct > Aerodynamic Cab and Nose for EMD5-EMD7,,:.)) Well, the advantage of the Cannon cab is that front wall is that it is a separate part, so you can easily splice it to get the peaked cab front. You'll need to add a little bracing at the edges so you can round them a bit. But hey, then you'll have something fairly unique. Of course, you're on your own for the dynamic brakes!!
