Red engine? James is a mixed-traffic engine. He has a reputation for being naughty. He is very proud of his red paint and shining brass dome, and so likes to stay clean. He hates pulling trucks, and believes that he should only be used to pull coaches. He thinks himself superior to the other engines, and can be shallow, boastful and arrogant.

Your kids are too old for you to remember this stuff. This scares me.

After all this time manufacturers still haven't figured out that they shouldn't use paint with lead in it ??

Made in China. Considering the news about the toothpaste from
China with diethylene glycol, the wheat gluten for pet food with
melamine, the fish raised in raw sewage and fed dangerous
drugs and chemicals to compensate (!), and the lead contaminated
cosmetics from China, it is a wonder folks keep buying stuff
from China.

Oh, yeah, it is cheaper. Sure....

So thats why those paint chips tasted so sweet. At least it is lead and not antifreeze.

Unfortunately, it is cheaper and all of us who shop at ANY big box store (and most little ones) know it.

The logo for RC2, Thomas's importer, looks like an adaptation of the Communist red star.

Red China 2: a sequel or redux?

I was kinda thinking the same thing.

Careful there Shane. Sir Topham Hat might pull you of service "so you can have a lesson"

I printed the recall form last week and shipped out the affected stuff we had.

On Tuesday, Small Boy asked for help finding his
"missing" James and Caboose. Hopefully the importer gets this straightened out before he figures out that James sleeps with the fishes.

Waiting for that other shoe, I remain:

Scary thing is that they were first sold in 2005, and it took about two years for them to get caught!!!
