Ebay Brass

It never surprises me how much some brass items reach
on Ebay, but can anyone tell me why an Overland SP SD40-T2
#8312 has reached a staggering $2600 with nearly 6 days to
go Ebay, item #230293075465, There must be something special
about it?.

Thats just crazy to pay $2,600 for a OMI SP SD40T-2. I just won a Overland Models UP 1996 SD70ACe on Ebay and it only cost me $1,400.

I'm glad that when I buy a Halmark brass 4-8-2 or 4-6-2 from the 70's on ebay that they aren't more than $300 each. (Am also glad there isnn't that many Wabash modelers out there.)

Very few were made and it is the only "correct snoot" (with all appropriate details) from that run of 40T-2's, it would appear two folks decided they most have it.

There were numerous errors on the snoots from that run.....

Come on Dave, don't be silly. The reason it's going for soooo much money is because it was bought from Allied Model Trains!!

It says on the box 112" nose, I was under the impression that they
only had 88" ,116" and 123" nose lengths is that not correct?

HOLY MOLEY!!! It's up to $4,100. now still with 5+ days to go!

This makes absolutely NO SENSE seeing Athearn's snoot T-2's are just days from arriving at your LHS from China. At discounted retail, you could buy at least 54 Athearn SD40T-2's!!!

NUTS!!!

Well, they say that some people are taking their money out of the stock market and putting it somewhere else that they think is safer... <G>

They look at unpainted brass and think its gold. As to why? If you can't afford it, don't buy it. Nobody has a gun to anyone's head to bid. I'm betting the SELLER is JAZZED!

A O scale cab forward by PSC costs this much. I wonder if it's a out of work banker going thru withdrawals.

I'll bet the Auction gets 86'd before it ends..I've seen this before on Ebay, Once on one of mine..The winning bidder had his account hacked by someone and didn't even know he was a bidder until I sent him the invoice..Ebay verified the occurence. Or it could be a really expensive clash of wills...

Why does the auction say Overland if it's made by Alco models?
