I Wonder if they'll make the smaller fuel tanks too...? I may hold off modifying a fuel tank for my Wabash unit...

Yes, they'll be offering smaller 1200 gallon fuel tanks as seen in the 8th image above (I had the wrong image uploaded above in the second reply)

I suppose they'll be romovable so you can put a different verison on if they don't offer it.

Where are the photos posted? I didn't see anything on the website.

Now if they will just include a chopped nose version as done by the RRs (flat top vs. the slanted as-delivered low nose like the GP-20s).

I suppose it is too much to hope that they will do an IC Paducah Rebuild version. Considering all the IC paint schemes they had (orange & white, gray & orange, solid orange, New IC death star) plus the 2nd and 3rd-hand owners of Paducah geeps (short lines, grain elevators, etc.) it might not be such a bad idea. I'd even do my own frog eye headlights if they got the chop nose and air filters right....

This would beat the investment in a Kaslo shop's resin kit for the body only (plus the assembly)...

I CAN'T BELIEVE IT! I swear my dreams are coming true. Athearn is the BEST !!! Just one thing, please please make sure the SP paint matches the rest of the SP locomotives (RTR)

Great - I just got done wishing on here a couple of days ago that some manufacturer would do modular GP-7's and GP-9's with all the differences and options able to be applied, and here that is exactly what Athearn has in mind! Will be a great seller! Bring on the C&NW chop-noses --- --- - --- JLH

It always varies a bit on the prototype too. Not every locomotive got painted on the same day, or got dirty or bleached out the same way, so the shades of red and gray vary on the prototype quite a bit. As long as it's in the strike zone (i.e. a little more precise than just ballpark) representative of the specific paint scheme and era, I'm good. Or undecs are good too.

Cheers,
Harry
