HO scale Baldwin DR-44-15 "Babyface" now shipping
Author: LV95032

The Anthracite Railroads Historical Society, Inc. is producing an HO scale CNJ prototype DR-44-15 resin shell kit to mount on a Proto 2000 FA2 mechanism. This has been a couple years in development and a number of people have put deposits down on these models some as far back as a year ago. Presently they are being shipped out in order of the date we received the original deposit. Additional information including a .pdf of the instruction sheet and ordering information can be found on the ARHS website - www.anthraciterailroads.org

I have always been interested in this model, as they were regulars on the CNJ High Bridge branch.

Besides the CNJ, who else operated these unique beasts?

NYC's were of the "baby face" design too? I thought that only the CNJ had that unique face and the NYC wore the later rendition of the "shark face" design.

MoP's were dark blue and really nice looking, regular power into Omaha from the south.

Be careful about mentioning NYC and MoPac units. The MoPac ones were not the same length and cannot be modeled with the ARHS CNJ units. Over the years CNJ modelers have bought the old brass Hallmark models only to find out that they were patterned after the MoPac units and were not appropriate for the CNJ Babyfaces.

I'm not sure about the Central units but knowing Baldwin I wouldn't be surprised if every order was different.

Yes, NYC had a few "baby face" freight units as well as "sharks". They also had a couple six axle A-1-A passenger "baby face" units.

There are shots of NYC 3802, 3803 Babyface freight units on the Fallen Flags site.

Very Nice. Too bad I don't have a need for them on my road.
