Retired UP engineer converts passion for trains to wood
Author: pbernath

The retired Union Pacific Railroad engineer operated trains for 35 years but for the past five years has spent his time, lots of his time, recreating model trains, mostly streamliner locomotives.

He has turned a life-long love affair with trains into a livelihood. He was a streamliner engineer, often piloting a passenger train that would travel up to 90 miles an hour. He took diesel locomotive No. 6922 on its final voyage, pulling a mail train to California and back, before No. 6922 was put on display in Cody Park.
