Tangent Scale Models is pleased to announce our next freight car, the HO Scale Pullman-Standard PS-2CD 4750 covered hopper “1979+ Version”!

As production continued through the 1970s, Pullman-Standard made a series of modifications to the PS4750 design that are visually distinctive from the earlier version, which we released last summer. To accurately offer these 1979-1981 cars, Tangent Scale Models has made all of the tooling investments necessary to produce highly-accurate models. Our new 1979+ PS4750 models include all of the spotting features you can see on the real cars:
- Changed roof design
- Narrowed roof hatches
- “Slope up” running board
- “Large hole” jacking pads
- Welded – not riveted – underframe components with “access holes”
- New brake system

- Burlington Northern (BN) in the striking “original cascade green” scheme with large BN logo and large Burlington Northern lettering. A highly accurate model, these cars are stunners and look great alongside our other BN releases for a great “family appearance” for your fleet. We are proud to offer these BN stunners in 12 road numbers.
- LN Family Lines (L&N) in the stunning "Original 1980" beige scheme. Check out our stunning “Family Lines System” lettering with the “Georgia-Clinchfield-West Point Route” logo. These beautiful replicas come complete with matching beige trucks, just like the prototype cars, and are available with 6 road number choices!
- Missouri-Kansas-Texas (MKT) in the eye-catching green scheme with the large yellow “MKT” painted on the flanks of the car. These beautiful replicas are available with 6 road number choices!
- Southern (SOU) in the eye-catching off-white scheme with the large black SOUTHERN lettering along the sides of the car. This is the largest covered hopper type purchased by Southern Railway and is a critical prototype for Southern and NS modelers. We are proud to offer our Southern replicas with 12 road number choices!
- Foster Farms (FPFX) in the private operator “original” scheme with beige carbody and brown lettering along the sides of the car. Foster Farms is a large poultry company with operations on both coasts, and these cars were used for feed. We are proud to offer these replicas with 3 road number choices!
- Mid-South Milling (MSMX) in the private operator “original” scheme with gray carbody and distinctive black “Mid-South Milling Co.” lettering along the sides of the car. Some of these cars were purchased by Columbus and Greenville. We are proud to offer our replicas with 3 road number choices!
- Undecorated RTR 1979-1981 with Body-mount brakes side mount airline
- Undecorated KIT 1976-1981

We are also pleased to release two requested schemes in the earlier carbody version, with all new roadnumbers for 2013:

- Illinois Central Gulf (ICG) in the original 1974 orange and black scheme. These “Service With Safety” eye-catching orange and black cars sold out in 2 weeks last year. Noted your emphasis on "not a pre-order announcement". That is the way to do it. It seems there are some entities doing announcements when they have a backlog of releases pertaining to previous announcements.

David, the L&N / FLS scheme looks fantastic! A lot of those cars are still wearing that scheme (and even L&N reporting marks) to this day. I'll be ordering all 6 and maybe a few extras to patch for CSXT. Can't wait to see them in person!
