Concor's PRR MP54's in HO
Author: brfriedm

I'm helping a good friend get ready for openhouses next month. November is Model RR Openhouse Month. He has allot on his plate and he needed his powered MP54's from Concor DCC'ed so I took them home and added DCC. The wheels were quite dirty from the factory so I cleaned them up, reglued a few loose parts, added Kadee couplers and took them for a spin on the layout. Do these units give me any interest in modeling the PRR? Nah, CSX modern for me. They run quite well and I clocked them at 110MPH over the scale speedometer. Nice units. He can now run them with all his dummy MP54 units and have some fun next month. Long live the PRR!LOL

I live in Pennsy country so I get my fill. I wonder how many double stack cars they can pull?! Thanks Bruce

Weren't there a couple of derelict MP54's at Greenwich Yard in South Philly until the last few years? That's CSX country . . .

I think they look very nice Bruce. And that was a
very nice thing you did for him. I bet he really
appreciates it too. I think you should string some
overhead wire on your RR and maybe pick up a couple
of the old South Shore cars. Weren't they part
owned by the C&O?

Thank You Russ for the kind words. I enjoy all trains so it is nice to work with something different. Be well. Bruce
