Model Railroading > The hills are alive with the Sound of Alcos...Date: 04/10/14 14:10 The hills are alive with the Sound of Alcos... Author: rapidotrains Hi guys,
We got our first proper samples of the FPA-4 and FPB-4 locomotive, and ESU was kind enough to master the sounds Bill and I recorded from the real thing. They look and sound amazing! You can tell by my screeching throughout the video. Prepare to wipe the drool off your keyboard..... :-) More info is at http://www.rapidotrains.com/fpa4.html Paint schemes are CN, VIA, VIA-CN, Napa Valley, Grand Canyon, NY&LE, and undec. Thanks for looking, Jason You must be a registered subscriber to watch videos. Join Today! Date: 04/10/14 14:28 Re: The hills are alive with the Sound of Alcos... Author: rschonfelder You're nuts !!!! .... but they look good. The Napa Valley Model RR club will love a reason to get these.

Cheers, Nick P.S. The models sound awesome. P.P.S. In the nerd picture...that is not a sonic screwdriver...is it? Date: 04/10/14 14:35 Re: The hills are alive with the Sound of Alcos... Author: P5r24 I'm not a real keen on H.O. sound units but
those puppys are pretty cool and sound great. Take it from a musicain/train horn collector. You guys really got the Canadian tuned Airchime K3 horn down perfect. (K bells 1, 2,& 3) The American standard K3LA has K bells 1, 2,& 4A and voices very different. The K3 you guys duped is spot on! Great job crew! Gary Date: 04/10/14 15:00 Re: The hills are alive with the Sound of Alcos... Author: rapidotrains Thanks for the kind words, guys! I'm really proud of that horn.
And yes, I am holding a sonic screwdriver. Watch again and you'll notice a Cyber head in the other arm..... I did say "nerd" after all. -Jason Date: 04/10/14 15:03 Re: The hills are alive with the Sound of Alcos... Author: rschonfelder Is the order book still open?

(the devil made me do it!) wag216 Date: 04/11/14 05:10 Re: The hills are alive with the Sound of Alcos... Author: EL-SD45-3632 Nice looking units however, you need to re-post another video of the sound without all of the whoop-te-do in the back ground so we can hear JUST the sound of the Alcos...the video of the sound did not last long enough for me to really hear it to judge for myself.

Sorry - every time I hear those sounds I can't help myself... It's better than drooling all over the models, which was my first reaction.... :-) I am sure we'll post other movies before the order deadline, preferably shot by Dan or Mike. They are less excitable. -Jason Date: 04/12/14 15:34 Re: The hills are alive with the Sound of Alcos... Author: ATSF3751 rapidotrains Wrote:
