Building Dates
Author: lizzard_45

The building in the back ground is the BONA building. It was built in 1892. My question is: Should the circles stay where they are in the photo or should they be lowered to just above the door, but below the hard brick line?

Any buildings I've seen have had the numbers both, above the doors and at the roof line.

Seems like you would have a street address near the door...or at least on a low level and the building date up high. Its often associated with a building name common place in that era.

I live in Philly, there are a lot of historical buildings here. Builder's date marks are random. It was the architect's decision, and if approved by the developer, that's where it went. No standard.
