SP layout progress, part 2
Author: sphauler

A few days ago I posted some photos of my layout in progress. The pictures were of “before” I applied the static grass and weathered the track. Even though I am still in the process of mastering the technique here are the results so far.

1. This first shot shows the finished work. To me honest I wasn't completely satisfied with the results of the grass. I could not get it to “stand up” correctly.
2. Train #72 blasts by with a GS-2 on the point.
3. Extra #6244 starts her climb up and over Cuesta.

Hope you enjoy!

4.Today's Guadalupe Local has a rare and elderly M9 class, 2-6-0 Mogul handling the train. Normally these locomotives were not assigned to the coast line. During harvest season, extra locomotives like this were brought up from Los Angeles to help out.
5.The outside braced boxcars have always been a favorite of mine.
6. A C30-1 caboose brings up the rear carrying the markers.

Great pictures, Ryan

I'm also noticing that there's no post-1955-livery SP boxcars and cabooses on your layout now, either. Better and better, with lots more still to treat us with.

Thanks for posting.

Good to see that your freight really is a train. The proof is the marker lights on the caboose.
