U25C delivery date?
Author: nygiant

Some shops advertise Rivarossi's U25C but no delivery dates are given. Anyone have a clue? Also, it looks like the Korea Brass version isn't coming at all.

It was mentioned on the Atlas Rescue forum that October 2014 was the release date for the U-25c's Not that far away. No idea as you mentioned if the KBM version will ever see the model rr world. It's a shame as it was a very nice model. ---- Ken

While there has been no official announcement a posting on the internet from a former employee says KBM management has lost interest in the project and withdrawn support.

All subject to change, of course. Perhaps if someone like BLI wanted to send them lots of money the model which seems to have a lot of die work already done might suddenly appear.

The KBM models I saw at Timonium this April looked to be complete. They had running samples so the drivetrain has been done. Body samples I looked at were complete. At that time the only unknown according to Scott Wendt then an employee was the sound system to be used. He mentioned that they had tried a Soundtrax TSU but the owner was not happy with the motor control. The best early GE sound currently in my opinion is the Lok Sound. But in talking with Lok Sound at that time they said their existing board would not fit the loco. I've heard that TCS is now demonstrating their diesel sound but it is not yet in production. I like their steam units so that may be an option. What KBM needs to do is state if the unit will be produced. Their lack of communication while Hornby produces their unit will result in lost sales should they decide to produce the unit. Time will tell . ----- Ken

Yeah I thought it was pretty far along to just "drop".
