Micro-Engineering deck girder bridge
Author: WrongWayMurphy

These are very versatile bridge kits. I had them assembled as instructed
on my previous layout, three 50 ft deck bridge kits assembled into one
150 ft long straight bridge. I reused them on my new layout here, as
a curved bridge, by disassembling them and making each section with a longer
outside girder and shorter inside girder. The center section (over lower track)
is two N-scale bridge girders glued together per side. Piers are hand carved balsa
painted to represent concrete. That Baldwin AS16 cabless B unit is another story
altogether. I have another longer ME bridge being installed now, but it has no track
installed yet and has not made its formal debut. Ceiling tile scenery in the background
was discussed here a few months ago... layout above my garage in Tyler, Tex

Wow! Really looks great! I'm always glad to see N scale on here.
Did you use ME track throughout? What kind of turnouts did you use?
Anytime you want to tell that story about the cabless Baldwin, I'm all ears!

This is HO scale -only the center section of the bridge is made with n scale bridge parts

Good use of multiscale. I would the story behind that cabless unit. Looks good

Thew rocks look good. I also used balsa wood for some bridge piers. I did not use sanding sealer and let the paint soap in. It looks a little rough like concrete.

Sorry, but the bridge deck is missing something under the ties. Everything else looks great.

Another sorry: The longest span should have the deepest girders; not the other way around.

Nice looking bridge. Do you plan to add walkway on one side?

Yes that will be added later, walkway, fire barrels, etc. I wanted to get the basic bridge in so I can move on to
more important things rather than super detail every item as that would delay operating sessions. This layout
is being built for operations, not for beauty contests or rivet realism prizes. The goal is to have fun with fellow
model railroaders and yuck it up a bit.

Nice looking bridge. What radius is the curve? I have a similar scene in need of a bridge on a 30" radius curve.
