Model Railroading > Alco C-636 Demo horn questionDate: 10/17/14 14:55 Alco C-636 Demo horn question Author: kgmontreal I've completed installing sound in my Bowser C-636 Alco Demo. The horn has two trumpets facing forward and one larger trumpet facing back. What type of horn was this? I need to select the correct horn sound from the decoder.
(It's not the same horn as the Penn Central C-636 which had all the trumpets facing forward.) Thanks. KG Date: 10/17/14 16:13 Re: Alco C-636 Demo horn question Author: sixaxlecentury Should be a Nathan M3.

The webpage says the 8 pin NMRA plug is no longer included so is it possible to solder wires from a 9 pin harness as a decoder connection? Any ideas of a possible drop in detector? Thanks. Only ESU and TCS make decoders with 21-pin plugs. TCS makes an adaptor harness to convert 21-pin to 9-pin. E. Haddons in England sells a 21-pin to 8-pin adaptor plug. I used this latter adaptor in my model.
KG Date: 10/20/14 17:25 Re: Alco C-636 Demo horn question Author: fbe Thanks, KG. If adding dcc to my DCC ready model involves some adapted I will likely replace the lightboard with a drop in NCE decoder equipped with surface mount resistors to adjust the lighting outputs.
