Model Railroading > Norscot HO Scale modelsDate: 10/20/14 09:55 Norscot HO Scale models Author: speederman01 I am looking for a reasonably priced place to buy HO scale Norscot models. I am specifically looking for backhoes, dozers, scrapers etc. Does anyone have any suggestions of on-line hobby suppliers that have these items? My LHS is fresh out.

Then there was the toy line that was simplified and sold in stores for $6 each. There was also a line of mini items in stores for a couple dollars each. These are all mixed up on E-bay, and you have to know exactly what you are looking at to know if you are getting a deal or not. I stocked up on the $6 Norscot models when they were in stores as they were not bad looking, and have used several as loads on flatcars. I also bought several of the high end models off Ebay to do the same, such as my D9 bulldozer. Not long ago there was a flood of the high end Norscot backhoes on Ebay from Hong Kong, and I bought one for $8 and free shipping. But those went away quick.

Jeff Date: 10/20/14 12:35 Re: Norscot HO Scale models Author: SPDRGWfan What about similar loads which would be appropriate for the 1970's or 80's. Those models look more modern in the photos.

Date: 10/20/14 16:56 Re: Norscot HO Scale models Author: funnelfan As far as older models go, there is not a lot to choose from. Which frustrates me greatly as well, as I would like to see much more 70's and 80's construction, farm and logging equipment.
Norscot made a older model CAT road grader. http://www.ebay.com/itm/HO-1-87-Norscot-Caterpillar-Cat-Diesel-12-MOTOR-GRADER-55173-RETIRED-/390938884949? GHQ also makes a good 70's style grader kit. http://www.ebay.com/itm/GHQ-61-008-120-Road-Grader-Pewter-Kit-1-87-/370965737986? First Gear Made a great couple of IH bull dozers http://www.ebay.com/itm/International-TD-25-Fire-Dozer-w-ROPS-and-Ripper-1st-First-Gear-HO-Scale-1-87-/131282865125? Nice job sir, nice job! Date: 10/20/14 21:54 Re: Norscot HO Scale models Author: arwye Date: 10/20/14 22:00 Re: Norscot HO Scale models Author: 70ACE OMG, somebody actually modeled a load tied down
> correctly!!! > Partially. In reality, blades are shipped cutting edge down. This way the shippers can hook a cable(s) onto the ram mounting holes for easier on/off of the flatcar. Less dunnage is used as well (smaller 2x6s around the edges to restrict sliding around or off the flatcar). This is not to demean Ted's excellent model. I was referring to flippin77's model. Date: 10/21/14 07:10 Re: Norscot HO Scale models Author: funnelfan 70ACE Wrote:

I realize the blade should be shipped with the back up, but that side didn't look so good with rivets showing. So I decide to just show it with the front up. Chad - Thanks...Its hit or miss for me, but some of the Intermountain flats, probably the newer released ones have them included. They give you plenty as well. Have a sharp knife ready! |
