I have 2 GP 38-2's, 1 has 4 screws in bottom of fuel tank, other doesn't, Q, are the bodies interchangeable ?

The one with the 4 screws are probably motor mounts and the other probably has 4 rubber studs showing, these are motor mounts. They went to the screws a while back. I can't say for sure but Athearn has the 4 screw set up as replacement for the 4 rubber mountings. As to the shell I don't think, but don't hold me to it as I haven't changed any, but should work just fine.

If the shells have the 4 prongs that slide thru the frame they are the same and should work on either frame.

The single piece Blue Box shells and the multi piece Genesis bodies mount in completely different ways.

The Genesis are light grey with mounts in the walkway bottoms, the Blue Box are black with fingers extending into the fuel tank.
