The first one is Charlie Grant's PRR layout. He does Philly and does a very cool representation of the High Line.

Dick Wlson who is on the schedule for the first time this year models this real railroad jointly owned by the NYC and PRR. His work is incredible. Take a look

Date: 11/16/14 17:58 Re: Openhouse layouts from this weekend in Delaware Author: brfriedm One of my operators son is running a freight in the first shot. He was super serious and was leaning into the freight to catch the roaring Tsunami's working downgrade.
Finally to show you the fun we have running, I showcase my good friend Tom Gears wearing a Hawaiian shirt and a cold one. Tom is one of the operators this night helping out. It is mandatory to have a cold beverage of your choice while running during openhouses. Go see some layouts! It get's the juices running. Be well. Good stuff there, thanks much for sharing!!! Date: 11/16/14 18:57 Re: Openhouse layouts from this weekend in Delaware Author: toledopatch When Mr. Chandler gets all the catenary strung through that Philadelphia layout -- as I presume he plans to do based on what I see -- I will definitely have to make the drive from NW Ohio to see that.
How does he plan to represent 30th Street Station without hiding most of his handiwork? Date: 11/16/14 19:16 Re: Openhouse layouts from this weekend in Delaware Author: bobc19024 Love the "grand union" in the 3rd picture. Very intricate track work and overhead work!
Bob Date: 11/16/14 21:17 Re: Openhouse layouts from this weekend in Delaware Author: NJTMatt Love the pictures Bruce, and I am really enjoying the layouts this year. I hope to get down to yours before the season is done.
Matt Noel Date: 11/16/14 23:22 Re: Openhouse layouts from this weekend in Delaware Author: Chooch The ZOO tower and the 30th St interlocking is most impressive. What a great layout. Thanks so much for showing this magnificent workmanship.

Thanks for sharing! Yup, right there in my rulebook too for operating sessions - "Consumption of beer is encouraged." Helps us remember this is a hobby, just like beer drinking :-) We keep the operations serious but it's important to have FUN! ~RGDave onondagacutoff.blogspot.com |
