Thought I would pass along an update regarding our Albrae Models HO scale DODX heavy duty flatcars. We're beginning the process to prepare tooling for this car. Anticipated release is Spring 2015.

Our DODX heavy duty flatcar will feature:
- Die cast metal body
- Added plastic and metal wire parts
- Newly tooled 6-wheel Buckeye roller bearing trucks
- 88-tread semi-finescale nickel silver wheel sets
- 2 plastic M1A1 Abrams tanks (not mounted on the car)
- Kadee #158 "scale" self-centering whisker couplers

Suggested retail price $69.95

Yes, I'm aware the 3D drawings show the M1A1 turrets in the wrong direction for movement on the flatcars. (grin)

Meanwhile, it's come to our attention that a new company, Alkem Scale Models, has produced a photo etch detail set for tie downs. These are used to secure loads on DODX and other flatcars. This link to their website explains more and shows the parts in use

I'll be ordering some, too through my dealer. I especially want those triple axle roller bearing trucks. I've got a TON of projects for those bad boys. I hope you make a lot of them 'cause I'm gonna need them. Thanks Rob!!

I'll be ordering a LOT of these cars...I have always wanted a true DODX train with M1's on the flats..cant wait!!!
