Model Railroading > Changes they are a comin'

With coal train operations set to begin later this year the need for more train capacity is required for the two plus trains per day increase in traffic. To accommodate the new coal trains (thanks to Intermountain doing 38 road numbers of three variants of CN coal cars and the want to run the 12 Utah Belt cars we have)a new yard will be built in Lumby, see attached drawing Kylie has done. Pending environmental assessment's and zoning requirements the yard should be built by fall of this year.

Our layout has suffered from lack of yard capacity since we built it with the prototypical layout of Lumby B.C., for a model railway this has caused problems as every new train has to be put on the layout and another train taken off.
