Model Railroading > Kansas Pacific new used purchaseDate: 01/30/15 11:08 Kansas Pacific new used purchase Author: antlorch This engine represents a second hand purchase for the Kansas Pacific railroad. It was red with the stripes and OLS graphics when I got it. I patched it with new number, sub-lettering and nose herold. I did all the detail work and weathering. This is a Athearn SD60.

Cool model!

Are you going to put in operational ditch lights? Joel Brazy Coatesville, PA Date: 01/30/15 13:58 Re: Kansas Pacific new used purchase Author: rschonfelder I really like your weathering.
Rick Date: 01/30/15 15:30 Re: Kansas Pacific new used purchase Author: NSTopHat Very cool model! Whose couplers did you use?

Excellent looking unit! LOVE IT Date: 01/30/15 17:31 Re: Kansas Pacific new used purchase Author: antlorch Thanks everyone. This was a fun build. My 1998 version of the Kansas Pacific actually is painted in a dark green scheme with yellow pilots, black under frame and silver trucks.
The weathering was done with artist oils thinned with Mineral Spirits to a wash and then finished with weathering powders and Panpastels. The couplers are from Sergent Engineering. No i am not lighting this engine as of now. This engine will probably just be in the consist not a leader. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 01/30/15 17:47 by antlorch.
