BNSF Fuel Tender 933500
Author: ChilliSub

Been working on the Milwaukee Road a lot lately, but I still find time for the Chilli.

Here's my take on one of the two BNSF natural gas fuel tenders in test on the road. I started with a Walthers LPG tank car which I lowered and weighted to start with. With available photos and some modelers licence, I built it as close as I needed it to be. I think it's a good representation of the real thing. I used spare parts from several manufacturers and bent a boat load of wire and tubing. If it ever derails though, it's bad ordered for sure!

Sorry for the so-so photo. Thanks for looking.

Bruce

Bruce;

That's pretty sweet! Have you got a shot of the other side?

That is total awesome. Guess I am going to have to freelance me one. If you can get some photos of all sides that would be sweet. Again great job. I know you said you weighted it but how much does it weight if you know? I would think it would have to weight a fair amount to truck in between to engines. Just curious.

Thanks for all the nice comments, it was a fun project.

I tripled the amount of weight that was originally in the car.

The Milwaukee Road is above the Chilli Sub, it follows a similar track plan as the Chilli. I'm planning on posting some pictures soon. Each operating session gets better and better. Doing a lot of rock carving, ballasting and general scenery right now. I figure I need about 1000+ pine trees!

Thanks again,

Bruce
