Murphy's law/ Black hole post below
Author: santafedan

A comment was made in the Black Hole post about requiring high visibility products.
Well, here is a story. I misplaced my NMRA track gauge. I gave up looking for it and got another and painted it orange. Within a day I found the first one. I have not lost either since.

I have at least 4 Swann Morton craft knives! Can never find ONE, and when I do, it's the one without a blade. Chris UK

Ah yes, that is the rule of the universe. As soon as you buy a replacement, you will find the one you lost...

Same with my coupler height gauge. Lost it, looked like crazy, gave up and bought a new one. Later, when looking for another part that wanted to jump ship, I found it. Somehow got down between the carpet and the wall behind the desk.

I spend more damned time looking for stuff that I just saw than I do building models.

I am glad to know I am not alone in this. My brother's lake house does eat tape measures, though.

I do some modeling over old orange shag carpet and I am truly amazed at how many dropped parts an screws I am able to find.

I feel for you. I've got about 4 of 'em now. I can only lay my hands on two. Painting is a good idea. Now, can we make them non-conductive?
