Desired production
Author: JLW2K

If you could have anything produced in HO scale, what would it be? I would say as a present day modeler I'm pretty happy. I'd like to see an SD59MX though. What would you want for your modeling tastes? Other scales welcome to opine as well just state what scale you're in.

I cant think of anything outstanding at the moment. Once I get my hands on my SD70M's with flares ,I am pretty much done for locos.Having said that ,I am a sucker for any new variation on a covered hopper.

5150 and/or 5250 cuft covered hoppers, as well as the Johnstown America Grainporter covered hoppers... and then a C39-8. HO scale.

I always answer the same way:

Diesel: C415

Steam: Harriman 2-8-0 (SP C-9 in particular)

The former has a chance. Bowser has been measuring the prototypes and is seriously considering the project.

Genesis/Tangent/Exactrail caliber rehash of the ACF 5250 cu. ft. hopper. The 40+ year old Irv Athearn era tooling needs to be put to rest!!!

Over five years ago I authored a post here about the need for an ALL NEW 5250 ACF 4-bay hopper. Obviously that plea has fallen on deaf ears...

RPO's, baggage cars, these were the main head end cars that were not producted in any large numbers but mostly baggage cars by Athearn.....There were and are great brass RPO's baggage and mail cars out on the market, but your talking big bucks.

Engine: C40-8M. Totally unique, and they travel widely on and oof CN.

A high quality ACF 4600. It has been mentioned before, and seems natural because it is a widely produced car that was owned by many railroads. I personally am interested in the Family Lines/SBD/Chessie/CSX version, as they make up a significant part of CSX's diverse grain car fleet and still roam in heritage schemes.

Also, several PRR/PC/CR cars:

The common waffle sided gons.

The 65' mill gons still running around in PC paint.

The 3 bay covered hoppers that are around in bleeding/faded CR and PC paint.

Some kind of large boxcar that has the giant CR can opener logo.

Re: Model wish list
Author: toledopatch

OK, so it's wish-list time again....

Motive power: B36-7, C36-7, C39-8

Freight car: H54 grain hopper (Penn Central, Conrail)

Also still hoping Athearn will reissue its acid tank car in 1990-era liveries, and ExactRail will do its PS 4427 car in The Andersons....
