Caption This....
Author: rbx551985

Photo backstory: the layout seen in this photo is a portion of the huge CB&W (Chesapeake Bay & Western) club in Grafton, Virginia, 7 miles south of Yorktown. It's the largest HO layout in Virginia, and the helix in the shot was built nearly 30 years ago by some of the older members of the club who actually worked at NASA on the nearby Langley base in Hampton. In the photo, the club member at right (Steffan Reymann) is frustrated at his train's derailment in a difficult-to-reach area inside the main helix, while his friend at left and also a club member (Brandon Page), is touched with humor at Steffan's irritation.

So in the TRAINORDERS.COM tradition, let's hear some creative CAPTIONS to the photo.... let the postings begin!

You'd fall off the track too if you went around that many times.

When the Coast Guard assigned us to this lighthouse, it took us a little while to get the layout going, but we're good now!

I don't have a caption for this, but I know that helix well. Trouble inside, and EVERYTHING stops on the layout until resolved. OK, maybe I do have a caption: A bottleneck and a corkscrew all at once!

Like fbe's post the best. The (M*V*V)/R is equation for centripetal force. This is the force which pulls toward the center of circle. Other captions also could apply as there have been club members who where in the coast guard as well as people who have worked at the Jefferson Lab which is the National Accelerator Lab (Newport News, VA).
