So you want to run double stacks do you...

Be interesting to model to say the least, brings a whole new meaning to double stack. Caught on the tail end of a CN Herzog ballast train on CN's Clearwater Sub. in British Columbia.

That application of the brakes was a little too abrupt.

A couple years ago I got a great deal on athearn 5 wells.   They came from somebodys collection and in various states of condition.  So I examined each one and the worst were used for parts to fix  and complete the rest.  I have a couple wells left that were the donors.  Now I know what to do with them.  Wreck damage and do this with them.

yea looks like the truck is in the well.  You can see it hanging down.

You gotta work pretty hard to break one of those articulation castings.

CN likes to run a lot of their stack trains in the 12000 foot (sometimes more) range, and I've seen many of them with stacks front and rear and a bunch of baretables midtrain. Heavy hand on the brake at the wrong time could do that to this well car I bet.

LOL.  That's a great catch! That's worthy of an IOTD. Thanks for posting these.

Next trick, loading some containers into that top well car.
