Here are the photos of the meet. We had a great time and there were over 400 models. Enjoy.
You'll notice the name Rob Barker. Rob was our long distance award winner and got first pick
from our prize table. He chose the new Fox Valley GP60. BTW, he owns the first one out of the warehouse.
He came from Australia, 9,500 miles away!

Thanks for the pics. Is there a prototype for that shorty whalebelly tankcar you showed? Never have seen one like that.

Here you go. I first saw the car in MLM many years ago. Then Atlas came out with their whalebelly. I measured the car using the truck wheelbase and then started cutting. I built new saddles and bonnet
 cage. The ladders are from the Atlas 17,000 gal car. I found a good photo of the B end in American
Car & Foundry Company 1899-1999. Thank you for your interest.

Harry, I didn't take the photos, they were taken by Carl Marchand who is a great guy.
Your great meet is the same time as Savannah, I guess that's a hindrance for us both.

Bobby, Just EXCELLENT work, brother!! REALLY great stuff!! Would you do us all a HUGE favor? For your next project, whatever it is, could you PLEASE make a series of YouTube videos on how you make your creations? I KNOW a lot of us would love to pattern our modeling after you. It would also show some of us what we are doing wrong. This goes for ANYONE AND EVERYONE  whose got this kind of talent that goes to these meets. ANY help is appreciated. THANK YOU!!

Thank you for your kind words, they are much appreciated. I don't have the skill or means to make a video. I work very slow and deliberately, so it would be long drawn out production.

No, models of all eras are welcome. Take a look at the WPM meet and you'll notice they have all diesels and modern freight cars. That's the direction the hobby is heading.

Hi Bobby,

Thanks.  Our thanks to Carl Marchand for the photos then!  It is wonderful to see everyone's work there.

The WPM meet in Los Angeles (San Bernardino, CA) was last weekend.  I can't claim that one as my meet, as it is managed by Joe D'Elia and friends..

A nice fellow who has been in the hobby since childhood.  Is a activist for prototype modeling in OZ.  USA outline which is not particularly unusual in Australia.  Although SOO is just as unusual in Australia as it is in Savanna!
