(HO) Walthers Proto UP Heritage Baggage Cars
Author: trkspd

Walthers announced HO scale UPRR heritage baggage car Council Bluffs with the USA Flag on the side, and also the Art Lockman tool car to be released at the end of October of this year.

I didn't see this posted on here, forgive me if it was.

People who shelled out for the rare OMI version of the Council Bluffs, ouch....this car wasn't ever going to be made in plastic I remember reading.

DG,

Thanks for posting the information on the new Walthers offerings.

Nice additions to the UP Heritage equipment lineup.

Will need to place an order for these with my local hobby shop.

I wonder if they will do the Howard Fogg as part of the series?

Sweet, now I don't have to order the flag decal off eBay with the odd UP shield. Of course now I have two extra baggage cars I could part with.

I will second that.

Thanks for posting, I had not yet seen they were doing the baggage cars listed above. I have always liked that flag covered Council Bluffs.

Walther's, just letting you know that the UP Baggage below is the wrong number and name. The car that you are planning to do is the Promontory which also has the flag emblem. The car you have listed, Council Bluffs is  the 72 foot version. I have enclosed your add plus a picture of the Promontory. The car for Promontory is number 5779. Dana
 WalthersProto
85' ACF Baggage Car - Standard - UP Heritage SeriesWalthersProto #9200

Sent this to Walther's...unionpac

And there you would be incorrect, Promontory (5779) and Council Bluffs (5769) are both 85' cars. Lynn Nystrom is a 72' car in which you are thinking of. UP has two 85' flag cars and one 72' without a flag.

Council Bluffs has 4 axle trucks, whereas Promontory has 6 axle trucks.

It appears Council Bluffs was re-trucked to 4 wheel OSH trucks as the 85' baggage/mail cars were built with 6 wheel trucks.

Thanks for the photos.
