Model Railroading > John Wickman?

Anyone know John Wickman from the Chicago area that builds turnouts and custom track? Though I didn't prepay, John has become elusive lately. I'm having him build some curved turnouts and though I haven't been impatient he would say this weekend, next weekend, etc. The last time we conversed he told me he had been ill for a few days but would get back on it. That was several weeks ago and though I've called, all I get now is an answering machine. He hasn't been answering my emails. I'm not out any money and, yes, I'm concerned about my source but also about John. He seems to me a very nice guy and has done great work for me in the past. Did the soldering fumes finally get to him?
