There are three schemes availble for two car classes. We spent countless hours collecting and researching the cars to get them right. 1. Bx-94 class in the Topeka Shops delivery scheme Load Dividers in 5 car numbers. 2. Bx-97 class in the Topeka Shops delivery scheme with Removeable Bars and Gates (notice different door lettering from the Bx-94 scheme) in 5 car numbers. 3. Bx-97 class in the post 1981 repainted scheme in 5 car numbers. Two types of door lettering, 520374 differs as per prototype. What you get is the most accurate Santa Fe boxcar ever produced with some the following highlights. * Different right-hand door stops between Bx-94 and Bx-97 classes * Differing lettering placements for individual car numbers * Accurately applied roofwalks or not with cut down ladders to match era specific schemes * Car number specific handbrakes, Ajax, Ellcon-National, Equipco, Klasing or Universal * Cushioning device Keystone DA-20B - Super SHOCK CONTROL * Extra extended etched roofwalk spcifically designed at the Topeka Shops * Finely detailed etchings for cross-over and brake platforms and cut-levers * Wire parts for ALL brake rods, air pipes, and stirrups in specific ATSF styles * First and most accurate coupler draft key details on the draft gear coupler boxes * Durable rubber air hoses and metal corner stirrups * 70t Ride-Control trucks with metal wheels and axles * Highly detailed Stanray 4-4 ends uniquely used by the Topeka Shops * ATSF style ladders on sides and ends * Researched accurate lettering, from the smallest stencils to differing left and right sides * Kadee ”Scale” Whisker couplers * Accurate paint colours and paint separations, like door arms and ladder mounting pads painted black as per delivery scheme. * Roof and roofwalks are not glued in so modelers can choose to back date there cars to the roofwalk-less days of 1967 onwards. Get them while they last. Shipping is a flat rate of $15 or six cars and more is free shipping. I encourage friends to go in together to get the free shipping to one address. Received my 3 BX97's, they are simply beautiful, BTW Nick how long did the BX94's stay in service? If they stayed into the 90's any thoughts if you run them again with a later paint scheme? Thanks, Jeff Date: 05/27/15 12:09 Re: Moloco Santa Fe boxcars available Now! Author: kangaroose Jeff,
According to Charles Slater a well known Santa Fe expert there were 60 cars of the Bx-94's that lasted till the 1995 BNSF merger and 95 cars of the Bx-97s for the same time period. In actual fact one of the cars was pointed out by Doug Stark recently on the Cimmarron Valley railroad still in service 2014. http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=4020405 So, I suppose they are still current. I'll just have to keep it away from the others... Date: 05/28/15 11:12 Re: Moloco Santa Fe boxcars available Now! Author: CPR_4000 I see "scratch and dent" versions are offered for about $30. What sort of defects would we be looking at on those?
Date: 05/28/15 11:47 Re: Moloco Santa Fe boxcars available Now! Author: kangaroose These are all minor issues. Like popped roofwalks, small glue blobs, ladders or door rods that a slightly crooked. Typically the paint and pad printing is still in great condition. I would probably describe them as great for modelers who weather or do similar things.

Great release. Nice to have an accurate Santa Fe box car. IMHO one of the best box cars on the market. Are you going to be doing another run of the kits? Cheers, Larry |
