Model Railroading > The climb out of Dunsmuir in 1:87 scaleDate: 05/28/15 13:02 The climb out of Dunsmuir in 1:87 scale Author: dmaffei Some progress on the Shasta Route layout in Redding CA. Photobob posted some photos a bit ago...
Laying out the track plan in blue tape on the floor and setting up some spline to get track elevation profile mock-up for Dunsmuir to the Mott/Azalea lap siding area. The climb out of Dunsmuir will be the focal point of this layout. Date: 05/28/15 13:07 Re: The climb out of Dunsmuir in 1:87 scale Author: TCnR Thanks for the update, here's the previous Bob report:

As you can see from the pic's below, I did the same method a few years back. This is the ONLY way to construct a sub roadbed in model railroading. Can't wait to see more photo's as you go. 1 http://www.trainorders.com/discussion/read.php?3,1725264,1725264#msg-1725264 2 http://www.trainorders.com/discussion/read.php?3,1758736,1758736#msg-1758736

Are you looking at the buildings behind the tracks or the river behind the tracks? I'm trying to figure out if Dunsmuir is a mirror-image, or not... dmaffei Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- .... You'll be looking at Dunsmuir facing east like in the real world with the canyon as a backdrop. Like Bob Church's layout...

The period being modeled is 1900-10, shortly before the "twin rail" conversion.
