Date: 06/29/15 16:59 Re: Suggestion for Walthers next train...? Author: djansson The only cars needed to model the NP North Coast Limited are the "Travelers Rest" buffet/lounge and the Dome Sleepers (4-4-4 layout). All the other cars are done including the oddball (4 room types!) sleeprs that GN and NP bought.
The Sunset was mostly "off the shelf" Budd equipment, the blunt-end 10-6 sleeper might be the only new one needed. IMHO, a variety of heavyweight and lightweight "combo" dorm / coach / lounge / whatever cars ran on many RRs and it would be nice to see these hit the market. Regards,DK Date: 06/29/15 18:40 Re: Suggestion for Walthers next train...? Author: overland28 Car # 2379 was actually an SP chair car. SP 9040 10-6 sleeper was not a blunt end car in 1952. It's rebuilding with a blunt end was completed April 23, 1953.
Jeff Date: 06/29/15 18:43 Re: Suggestion for Walthers next train...? Author: overland28 The SP Sunset Limited equipment was not "off the shelf". All the cars, other than the regular 10-6 sleepers, were strictly SP designs.
