Model Railroading > X-treme Metal paintDate: 07/02/15 06:16 X-treme Metal paint Author: cabman On another forum and on U Tube I have seen glowing reports of a new paint called X-treme Metal by AK Interactive. The demo on U Tube was very convincing and since I have procrastinated using my Alclad paint, on unpainted ATSF hi level cars, was wondering where to get the stuff. Does anyone on this forum have any information on its whereabouts? TIA

Overseas customers could try here https://www.scalehobbyist.com/manufacturers/AK_Interactive/Paints/xtreme-metal-burnt-metal-metallic-paint/AKI00000484/product.php Edited 2 time(s). like a great product, perhaps it is, but there was absolutely no support on how to apply the product, even from the manufacturer. And with it's rather hefty price tag, I decided to not try it. Be sure to post your results. Thanks, Frank30 Date: 07/02/15 08:28 Re: X-treme Metal paint Author: binder001 The AK Interactive line of paints is aimed primarily at military modelers, so the better military shops have it. One suggestion is Michigan Toy Soldier Company. They are generally very nice about answering questions also.

http://ak-interactive.com/v2/?product_cat=xtreme-metal Another of their products. called "True Metal," appears to come in tubes. Always on the lookout for the magic bullet to create the perfect non-lumpy, thin, easy-to-apply "stainless steel" effect. Wouldn't it be nice if this were it? ~ BZ Date: 07/02/15 13:40 Re: X-treme Metal paint Author: cabman scalehobbyist.com does carry the AK Interactive products. I wish I knew what color to order to simulate stainless steel passenger cars, chrome, aluminum or dark aluminum. Anyone have any experience??

It's too hot in Seattle. My usual short attention span becomes...what were we saying? Anyway, thanks for the links!
