Model Railroading > An "Oh, crap, the paint is ruined" momentDate: 07/21/15 16:32 An "Oh, crap, the paint is ruined" moment Author: 4thDistrict While painting a Walther's structure kit with Tamiya TS-27 white paint, I had a lapse of attention and applied this very fine paint way too heavy in a couple of places and it ran. Can anyone recommend a safe way to strip the paint off this type of plastic so I can do a better job the second time?
Thanks for any help you can provide to bail me out of a ruined paint job. Date: 07/21/15 19:08 Re: An "Oh, crap, the paint is ruined" moment Author: Frisco1522 I don't know about plastic. I was painting a brass engine with lacquer once and got a run. I "dabbed" it with the sticky side of a piece of masking tape and kept lightly spraying it with thinner, all before it dried, and eventually recovered the mess.
I miss painting with the old nitrocellulose lacquer. The acrylic stuff just isn't the same. Date: 07/21/15 20:04 Re: An "Oh, crap, the paint is ruined" moment Author: CCT41 Try rubbing alcohol
