Thinking of converting some -9's to dummys

I got to looking at my unused Blue Box loco's and they were nice 17 or 18 years ago before the  DCC bug struck me, now that I have a lot of EMD's DCC equipped I'm thinking of consisting the dummy GE's, I know its my RR, but would you do it ? just curious !!

It's an easy way to get DPU's on your train, plus you'd have plenty of space for speakers.

I do that quite a bit Ed.  Works great!  In my case, I like to add sound to them, but remove the motor.  That allows me to still enjoy a variety of sounds from the consist, but avoid the poor running qualities of some factory units.  The dummies work out so well that it's often easy to forget which units are powered, so I started inserting a broom in one of the front grab irons on the nose of the dummies to remind me, as shown below.

I second Joe on it. I have a few of them as well....the dummies make great speaker-carriers :)
