Bachmann Climax gear replacement

Does anyone know if the steel gears announced for the newest Bachmann Climax would fit the older model with the plastic gears? The plastic gears crack almost immediately when new, and the replacements sent by Bachmann did the same.

Don't have a direct answer to your question, but know someone that will.  Contact Phil at http://www.shayfixer.com/  He replaced my crappy bachman plastic gears with metal and my engine has run perfectly for several years now.  Mark  <><

I figured if anyone would have the answer to parts fit question it would be Bachmann so I emailed them at 12:44 today. at 12:48n Birdget replied and informed there had been changes in the gearbox, which I suspected. I'm VERY impressed with the quick response form Bachmann,even if it wasn't the answer I would have preferred.
