Model Railroading > New GEs

Has anyone heard if any of the manufactures' are going to make the latest GE locomotive? Thank you

On another board Shane Wilson of ScaleTrains.com said they have a licensing agreement with GE for the new ET44s in HO and N scale.  When they'll come out is anyone's guess.

 I noticed on the Athearn annoucement, that both the F units and SD38's are not going to be available until 12/ 17, at the earliest.  That's a l-o-n-g time to project availability.

That's fast for Athearn, it took them 8 long years to add the skyline casing on the MT4 so 11 months is light speed, at least for them.

It's not eleven months, it's almost 2 years - next Christmas is December 2016 !!

My money is on Shane Wilson and the crew from Scale Trains. I said it once and I'll say it again, if you've never met these guys, you need to. They are ON FIRE. I just wondered if anyone has heard anything definite. 

I toured Intermountain trains a couple of months ago. I asked if they had considered doing them. He told me that the drawings were on the table at the time and the specs had been sent to China. So intermountain should be releasing info soon

Yes, the new PC SD38'S seem to be in that time frame according to the fellow i talked with though they had a fully complete one there....

The PDF indicates they are due January 2017, while the website shows Decemebr 2017...I am thinking one of those is a typo...I would think a January 2017 date seems more likely, but who knows!
