Model Railroading > Paint question

  trying to decide with what paint to use i used scalecoat and tru color both with great results i paint brass and plastic wondering which paint would hold up better thanks....

Scalecoat is always my first choice - Scalecoat l for brass and Scalecoat ll for plastic.

Tru Color over Tru Color primer seems to work well on brass as well.

I have been unsuccessful with Tru Color directly on brass until I began to use Scalecoat 1 MOW grey as a primer. (I have not tried Tru Color primer yet) I prefer Tru Color paint but I appreciate the way Scalecoat adhers to brass. Many more color choices with Tru Color, and it does not leave a toxic smell after painting. If you do use Scalecoat as a primer, be sure it has dried completely before applying Tru Color (or any other paint for that matter). I highly recommend thinning Tru Color before spraying. It can be thinned with acetone, but frankly, I use the Tru Color thinner because it seems to work better with the paint. I use acetone to clean my airbrush.
