Some SP branch line action
Author: bxmoore

Three snaps from January's club meet.
1: Train order stand at Quisling depot.
2: SD7/SW1500 combination - today's Quisling Turn power.
3: SP 4343 switches at Quisling.

As always, thanks for looking.

Brian

Brian:

I remember the days when the locomotives from your 2nd photo would come up the Burbank, CA branch and Wye at Chatsworth or somedays turn onto the Coast and head east towards Gemco.

Most days it was SW1500 (a pair) for years and towards the end of the branch GP's (in pairs) took over.

Great photos and great looking layout.

Thanks for sharing.

Your town is probably too clean but it looks great!

What material did you use for the station platforms, plaster?

The SD7/SW1500 combo is copied from a BoilingMan picture he kindly posted for me.

The platform is thin balsa with a paste of flat grey enamel paint mixed with talcum powder, and stippled on.

Really captures the look of Southern California in the 60's and 70's.  Nice work!
