Best book/online info on weathering steam??
Author: steam290

I'm looking for good info on weathering steam.  I have a book: "Steam Locomotive Projects & Ideas" put out by model railroader, but I have actually seen better weathering than that which is shown in the book. I am planning to work with an air brush. Where do you guys get your tips?  Is there a good online or print article?

I am new to air brushing, and I don't know how well mine will work. Its a Paasche TGX with the largest tip being .66.  I may have to get a new one.

MIG (Jimenez) Pigments has a book or two on weathering steam locomotives, though they are European oriented, they should still point you in the right direction.

Nice.  I supposed steam weathers the same way on whichever side of the pond you happen to be.

I know you are looking for a book, but Jeff Johnson makes a good video set on the subject:
