closed cell foam for diesel handrail protection?
Author: CCT41

Guys,
looking for a source of the closed cell foam sheet to slide between diesel locomotive body shells and the handrails. I know several manufactures package their products this way to keep handrails straight, but there are some who do not do this. any sources of suggestions???

Thanks in advance,
John Black

I know of some people who use Balsa wood, maybe that would work for you?

Here is more than you will ever need for $7

You can find Sill Sealer foam rolls at most home builder supply stores and hardware stores.

I found three enormous rolls of the stuff at a Habitat for Humanity store for $2/apiece. Used building supply stores are a godsend to model railroaders, I'd say.
