Atlas Ford F-100

I was just looking at the pics of Atlas' F-100 on their site.  Does anyone know if those are pre-production models?  Woof!  They look like 70-80's Wiking vehicles... except they cost $20.  It seems funny to make new tooling for a 1970 F-100 when Neo Scale offers an excellent 1968 already.  Atlas's vehicles have always been rough, but they seemed like they were improving with each new release. Maybe the production models will be better.

Photos on Atlas site are computer renderings, I believe.  Final model should look better, although I'm sure it won't be quite to the NEO standards.  That said, its regular street price will be about half as much as the NEO model.

The Atlas models are due June 30th and have an MSRP of $19.95 (a bit steep). We'll see what turns up!

The photo above?  That is HO scale.  It is listed on Amazon for about $70 including shipping from France.  I've seen other colors priced from about $32 up to a whole lot of dollars.  The larger scale Neo's are even closer to the prototype in proportions and details.

Any of the above would look great in an bi-level autorack.  But it would cost a fortune!

I was at thier site and didnt find any in 1:87. Only in the larger size. Ya I would love to have a couple auto racks with the ford pickups for the ARPG out of Milpitas. Guess its fill them with mini metals until there is afordable late 60s trucks.

Many years ago Life Like made a Ford pickup the camper special version that had a longer wheelbase. Was a very nice model for it's time. They were cheap back then. I've often wondered if the dies still exist somewhere. ----  Ken

You can find the 1/87 Neo vehicles distributed in the U.S. at this web site:

https://www.american-excellence.com/

The 1968 Ford pickup in white is currently on sale for $20 - https://www.american-excellence.com/index.php?p=details&i=176622

The blue 1968 Ford is available for $30.95 - https://www.american-excellence.com/index.php?p=details&i=174795

Much better than $70!

I do believe the Atlas model is supposed to be a 1973 version of the Ford F100.

For O-scalers, a wide range of Neo, Matrix and Spark 1/43 high end resin and white metal American prototype street cars can be found at Replicarz in Vermont.  I've bought from them for the past 20 years and their the best in the die-cast business, and they often have sales (including 15% this labor day weekend):

I thought about that too and wondered if if was an update on the old mold.  I even have one.  I was thinking bachmann, but you're right - life-like.  I think mine came with a construction site set or something.

And yes, american-excellence is a great retailer for NEO.  The NEO's in my experience are very well designed - just sometimes a little sloppily put together.  They look great though!
