Virginian paint on NS heritage ACEs ?
Author: SD45X

Did all three HO ACe builders get the blue tint right? Or which one is better looking paint? Not really interested in running quality. Athearn Bachman or MTH. Just want a decent display piece.

Didn't know the was any Blue on it. VGN used Black & Yellow. I have the Athearn and it looks good.

I hope not!  Blue and yellow is purely Lionel and other tin plate - yeah, it's pretty.  Black diamonds were Virginian's cargo.  Black and yellow are the colors.

Well, in the light it has a dark blue tint. On the real one. I'm not the only one to see it.

Blue tint could be reflection of the sky, especially in shadows.

All three model locomotives asked about in the first post are black and yellow.  If you want blue it will mean painting.
