Model Railroading > UP Steam Cheyenne facilities

Does anyone know where to find the dimensions of the current UP Cheyenne roundhouse, back shop and depot. Or even the dimensions of the old roundhouse and back shop. I am looking to make the current facilities in n scale. Thanks

There is an easy way to get the measurement.

With Google Earth (the downloadable application, not the web page) you can measure a shape or distance. This does not work with street view mode.  Zoom in to the area you want, and select the ruler icon.  Here I am measuring the distance between the two parts of the crane.

There is another option that I have seen mentioned here.I think it is a Photoshop tool.If you have a elevation view  of (say....your building).Factor in a known diamension(say a standard door frame)The program will then give you diamensions for the rest of your project.Havent used it myself.

Hah! That's my photo of a tower that I built for sd39u!  It certainly works, or at least well enough to get you in the ballpark.

Might check Don Stracks site Utah rails. He has a lot of UP info. Might have the dimensions

Or UPHS.
