Model Railroading > Adding some flavor to your models....Date: 07/23/16 14:18 Adding some flavor to your models.... Author: funnelfan So I just received these two old MDC/Roundhouse baggage car kits today, and I'm adding a little flavor to them. One as Fruit Punch and the other as Cherry Limeaide........just kidding, I'm stripping the paint off them. I will let one side soak for a couple hours, wash the paint off, then soak the other side for a couple hours. These drink mix containers just happen to be the perfect size for HO scale models, so I've kept several for this purpose.

I usually use a long, disposable tin baking pan so I can immerse the entire shell at once. I can see how your idea works, but in taking longer by having to flip the shell, I would think you would have more evaporate.
I also like the foil baking tins as they can be bent easily to direct the liquid directly into the original container. Victor A. Baird http://www.erstwhilepublications.com Edited 2 time(s). It's about 15'' long works great...
