Model Railroading > My Frisco Roster-a piece at a timeDate: 09/21/16 07:05 My Frisco Roster-a piece at a time Author: Frisco1522 During the early -mid 1940s, Frisco took 7 of the 1306 class 2-8-0s into the Springfield shops and rebuilt them into 1350-1356 2-8-0s. They did this by stretching the boilers to add a combustion chamber, a Coffin FWH and a Delta trailing truck with booster along with larger tenders. The Coffin was on the outside of the smokebox front, which looked like they had a shawl around their shoulders. The cylinder and the stack were offset. I always thought of these as sort of an ugly duckling. I may have screwed up with the red cab roof.
I took a Hallmark 2-8-0 and followed the same path as the Frisco. These engines found use on the River Division and reportedly did a decent job. |
