Nice roster of UP's notables. The mix of oil and sand looks very old school.

what technique did you use for the Veranda turbine? Beautiful modeling!

Good morning everybody! Thank you for the kind words!

Well it was pretty simple, first I sprayed the whole loco with gray, let it dry, then applied black acrylic paint in thinned in alcohol, and took it off where it had to be "clean".Then applied more non thinned black over the coat to simulate the heavy oil spills...
On the roof a little black spray and brown washes on the trucks, tank and pilots... And you are ready to go...  I did the same on the prior painted tracks by the way! But the whole thing is still not finished, there is so much more to be done...
Here are some more photographs of the same engine, I posted about 4 years ago. The tender still has no dust on the trucks, I got tired on the time :-)
I am planing to do similar treatment on the Scale Train Turbines I`ve got! Project number 89.974.552 :-)
