Model Railroading > Pennsylvania P70k Coaches questionDate: 10/16/16 19:34 Pennsylvania P70k Coaches question Author: cabinman I have acquired a Nickel Plate Products version of what I can best research as a Pennsy P70k coach
My questions are-1. Are there any photos of these cars in the early to mid-60's in the 4 Kesystone (simplified) scheme? 2. What number series would they be in at that date? I have exhausted all my books and internet searches. Thanks, Keith Turley Monrovia, California Date: 10/17/16 07:23 Re: Pennsylvania P70k Coaches question Author: CPR_4000 According to the PRRTHS they were numbered 4244-4309 in 1954: http://pennsyrr.com/kc/data/varnish/search_class.php?q=P70k&Search=Search
I was not able to find a more recent roster. George Elwell's site http://passcarphotos.info/Indices/PRR3.htm doesn't show any in the simplified scheme. Maybe they had been scrapped by that time? Perhaps Ken McCorry will check in with more info. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 10/17/16 07:24 by CPR_4000. He said the P 70k's since they were rebuilds lasted until the end of the PRR. No renumbering of these coaches known so they should still be in the 4244-4309 series. Since they lasted until the end they probably would have been painted in the Keystone only scheme. I have not found a picture of one in that scheme. ---- Ken
