Model Railroading > SD39's on my Northern ArizonaDate: 10/21/16 00:19 SD39's on my Northern Arizona Author: Brakeman I know that there are no high-hood SD39's, however, there is no Northern Arizona Railroad either! I would just like everyone's opinion on having high-hood SD39's before I start painting. Thanks.

Cheers, Harry Date: 10/21/16 01:12 Re: SD39's on my Northern Arizona Author: Brakeman I haven't decided yet. Either the Utah Southern or the Arizona and California. I think I might try green silver and yellow. The silver will be where the white is on the AZ & CA's is.

If you put some steam generator details (or remnants) up on the short hood, you could play it off as an ex-Mexican unit. They had a good handful of steam generator-equipped, high-hood EMD's that could've conceivably been sold to an Arizonan railroad.

Mr. MRL Date: 10/21/16 19:46 Re: SD39's on my Northern Arizona Author: Jimmies You're the one driving that freight train. You can do anything you want to do. It's your railroad.
Jim Date: 10/22/16 00:40 Re: SD39's on my Northern Arizona Author: Brakeman Snoot high hood SD45T-2 would be cool!
Date: 10/22/16 00:59 Re: SD39's on my Northern Arizona Author: Brakeman Yeah...it kinda makes me want to paint it black with white lettering.
